Weymouth Harbour Walls Update

Good progress is being made with piling commencing yesterday (14 October), however due to weather conditions and unknown ground conditions which can both delay piling, the team are remaining cautious. An entire length of the waling beam will be exposed this week which is a key structural element of the existing wall. Electric and Water Supply Cargo Stage Berths

Please be aware that due to the current Ferry Steps works, the electrics on the Cargo Stage will be turned off for the following periods: • Thursday 17th October 0900 – 1400 • Friday 18th October 0900 – 1400 This will mean the Fish Landing Quay crane will be out of action and there will be no pontoon water on the Cargo Stage and Custom House Quay as far as the Town Bridge. MCA Roadshow Small Fishing Vessels Help Make Changes

In the last 10 years, there have been 46 fatalities on small fishing vessels which have resulted in a number of recommendations from the MAIB to improve safety. Some of these came into force in 2017 with the introduction of a new Code, MSN1871.
